MEMBER REFUND Policy

Thank you for joining the International Society of Mythology (ISM). We appreciate your support and want you to have a positive membership experience. However, we understand that sometimes circumstances change. Our refund policy is designed to balance your flexibility with ISM’s need to maintain fair and sustainable operations.

 

1. Full Refund Window (First 30 Days)
  • You have 30 days from the date of your membership purchase or renewal to request a full refund.

  • All refunds will be minus any processing fees incurred by ISM from banks, credit card companies, or web platforms, as well as a small administrative fee to cover handling costs.

  • To request a refund within the 30-day window, please contact us at info@ismythology.com. Include your full name, membership ID or purchase confirmation, and a brief reason for cancellation.

  • Once approved, refunds will typically be processed within 14 business days to your original payment method.

 

2. Prorated Refund Window (Days 31–60)
  • If you decide to cancel between 31 and 60 days from your membership purchase or renewal date, you may be eligible for a 50% refund.

  • As above, the total refund will reflect any applicable processing fees (bank or payment platform) plus our administrative fee.

  • Please submit your request in writing to info@ismythology.com with the same details (name, membership ID, reason for cancellation).

  • Once approved, refunds will typically be processed within 14 business days.

 

3. Usage of Membership Benefits
  • If you have already taken advantage of significant membership benefits—for example, free or discounted conference admissions, workshops, or other paid events—ISM reserves the right to reduce or deny your refund.

  • This ensures fairness for all members and discourages misuse of membership privileges.

 

4. Extraordinary Circumstances
  • We understand that personal or professional situations (e.g., major illness, unexpected financial hardship) can arise.

  • If you believe you need a refund outside the standard policy windows, please contact us with detailed information and any supporting documents. Requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

 

5. Non-Refundable Fees
  • Certain fees, such as payments for special ticketed events, workshops, or supplemental materials, may be non-refundable if they have separate terms noted at purchase.

  • We do not offer refunds for partial months or unused membership periods outside the policies above.

 

6. Changes to This Policy
  • ISM may revise or update this policy as needed to keep pace with organizational or industry requirements. If significant changes occur, we will notify members through the ISM Newsletter and our website.
