Sharon J Chapman

Sharon J Chapman earned her Ph.D. in Mythological Studies from Pacifica Graduate Institute in 2013, where her dissertation showed that the filmmaker Ingmar Berman was highly influenced by Norse mythology, especially the Norse goddesses. While in Norway and Sweden, researching for her dissertation, she became steeped in Freyja and Frigg’s essences. Dr. Chapman is particularly fascinated by Freyja the teacher, which was her own profession for over 35 years. Now in retirement, Freyja is still teaching her, as Dr. Chapman prepares to step into another of Freyja’s roles as she prepares to usher her husband gracefully across the threshold.
