Not having a steady income or a community to interact with daily can be isolating. The constant applications, networking, and searching that often only result in rejections or no responses can bring about despair and questions of how to find one’s path forward. Those pulled to mythology often have to forego their dreams of this work as a vocation as the humanities and arts are increasingly devalued in society. Yet, that is when the material is the most impactful.
One of the goals of ISM is to help network and find ways to bring myth into the world while also earning a living. This can feel like an impossible mountain to climb. That’s why we want to support one another in finding our footing together
