Tuesdays, July 14 - Aug 18, 2026 4:00 - 5:30 pm PT | 7:00 - 8:30 pm ET Course Description: Where do we come from—when the stories are known, and when they are not? This course explores ancestry as both inheritance and mystery. Moving beyond a purely genealogical understanding, we enter the deeper terrain of mythic, archetypal, and embodied lineage. Through comparative mythology, depth psychology, ritual practice, and somatic inquiry, we will engage the many layers of ancestry: biological, cultural, adoptive, communal, and imaginal. For those whose lineages are fragmented, hidden, or unknown, this course offers another way in. Ancestry is not only something we research—it is something we feel, carry, resist, and become. What You’ll Learn: By the end of this course, participants will: - Develop a multidimensional understanding of ancestry beyond bloodline - Explore mythological and archetypal frameworks for engaging ancestors - Work with ancestral shadow: inherited trauma, silence, rupture, and displacement - Cultivate practices for connecting with known and unknown lineages - Engage somatic and ritual methods for ancestral relationship-building - Examine personal narratives of belonging, identity, and origin through a mythic lens - Create or deepen a personal ancestral practice rooted in consent, discernment, and agency Each session includes: - Lecture (mythological, psychological, historical frameworks) - Guided reflection or journaling - Somatic or imaginal practice - Optional ritual engagement - Group discussion Registration: $170 ISM Members $150 (email info@ismythology.com for discount code).
