The Journal of Mythology Peer Reviewer Application

The International Society of Mythology is seeking peer reviewers for the nascent edition of The Journal of Mythology (JOM). ISM and JOM are dedicated to promoting academic credibility in the field of mythology and a peer reviewed journal is a pivotal step towards this goal. Peer reviewers will be sent selected blinded abstracts and articles for assessment and will be responsible for communicating the validity, significance, and originality of articles to JOM editors. 

 

The first edition of JOM is themed “Mythic Imagination.” For more information on this edition please see the call for papers. 

 

Peer Reviewer requirements:

  • Must be a PhD Candidate or possess a PhD in Mythology, Folklore, Anthropology, History, or a related field.

  • Has not and will not submit to this edition of JOM.

  • Is available to read abstracts from July 1- July 14.

  • Can commit 3 to 5 hours to reading abstracts during the above window.
