The Journal of Mythology is proud to announce its inaugural issue, Volume I, Issue 1, published by the International Society of Mythology. This issue brings together nine peer-reviewed articles spanning a rich array of mythological traditions and interdisciplinary approaches. These contributions explore how ancient narratives continue to shape contemporary culture. Contributors examine the mythical forest through depth psychology and ecological re-storying, trace sacred stories through the visual grammar of sequential art, investigate how role-playing games generate new modes of divine mythopoesis, reinterpret Eros and Psyche through feminist mentorship frameworks, and interrogate evolving portrayals of Rama and Sita across Hindu literary traditions. Together, these works affirm that mythology is not a relic of the past but a living discipline that speaks to the most urgent questions of identity, meaning, and transformation.
