The International Society of Mythology is accepting course and workshop proposals for 2026.
What We Are Looking For
Courses about specific mythologies and stories: i.e., Classical, Scandinavian, Mayan, Yoruba, Indigenous, Korean, etc.
101 Lectures and courses that contextualize and give an overview of mythic texts, culture, figures, and stories.
New takes, deep dives, interdisciplinary analysis of myth.

Interdisciplinary
ISM supports the study of mythology from all its interdisciplinary angles. As long as your work pertains to myth, we will consider your proposal. A few examples of intersectional fields of mythology include:

Qualifications
ISM recognizes that not all wisdom, education, and knowledge come from a classroom or traditional degrees. We ask that you have experience with the work you plan on presenting. This can be from a traditional degree, hands-on practical experience (i.e., artist, writer, or practitioner), Indigenous or cultural wisdom. We do ask that all work be based on scholarship and experience.
Course Format
There are several ways to teach with ISM. These are formats that have worked in the past. We are open to other formats if they fit your presentation needs better.
Single 1-2 hour lecture.
Single 6-hour day course
Multi-week Series ranging from 2-6 sessions.
Compensation
ISM believes that people choosing to work with mythology should be able to receive compensation for their dedication and work. Teaching with ISM is a paid opportunity. We have a set price per course, reflective of hours and the number of students enrolled.
